Creator Agreement

1. Eligibility

To publish apps on 6ortal, you must apply and be approved as a creator. You must be at least 18 years old or have legal authority to enter into this agreement.

2. App Submission

All submitted apps undergo a review process including automated security scanning and manual review. 6ortal reserves the right to reject any submission that does not meet our quality or security standards.

You must provide accurate descriptions, screenshots, and metadata for your apps. Misleading listings will be removed.

3. Open Source Apps

Open source apps must provide a valid GitHub repository URL. The Platform may build the app from source to verify the binary matches the public code. Open source apps are eligible for the "Community Verified" badge.

4. Closed Source Apps

Closed source apps undergo additional review including sandbox testing and behavioral analysis. Closed source apps may receive a "Platform Reviewed" badge upon approval.

5. Fees, Payouts, and Money

We have tried to make this section boring and completely clear. Most bad marketplace stories start with somebody being surprised about money.

5.1 Definitions used in this section

"Sale Price" means the price a Buyer pays for your app, in US dollars.

"Platform Fee" means 6ortal's commission, described in Section 5.2.

"Processing Costs" means the card processing charges described in Section 5.3.

"Net Proceeds" means the Sale Price minus the Platform Fee and Processing Costs.

"Stripe" means Stripe, Inc., our payment processor.

5.2 The Platform Fee

5.2.1 6ortal's Platform Fee is 20% of the Sale Price.

5.2.2 The Platform Fee covers hosting, security scanning, listing review, the storefront, discovery, and support.

5.2.3 There are no listing fees, no monthly fees, and no fees on free apps. If you never sell anything, you never pay us anything.

5.3 Processing Costs

5.3.1 Card processing costs 2.9% of the Sale Price plus $0.30 per transaction. This is Stripe's standard US rate at the time of writing.

5.3.2 Processing Costs are deducted from your Net Proceeds.

5.3.3 These costs go to Stripe, not to 6ortal. You would pay the same rate selling from your own website, or through any other platform. Accepting card payments costs money everywhere.

5.3.4 Stripe sets this rate and may change it. If it changes, the amounts you receive change accordingly, and we will update this section.

5.3.5 Stripe's actual rate can vary slightly by card type and by the Buyer's country. Figures shown in your dashboard are close estimates, not guarantees to the cent.

5.4 What you actually receive

5.4.1 Worked examples:

5.4.2 Notice how the flat $0.30 hurts more at low prices than at high ones. On a $3 app it is 13% of the sale. On a $40 app it is under 1%. This is worth thinking about when you price.

5.4.3 Your 6ortal dashboard shows this breakdown for each individual sale.

5.5 Reading your Stripe dashboard

5.5.1 Please read this one. It prevents a specific and very common misunderstanding.

5.5.2 Because of how marketplace payments work technically, Stripe's own dashboard shows the Platform Fee and Processing Costs as a single combined amount rather than as two separate lines.

5.5.3 This does not mean a larger deduction has been taken. It is the same money, displayed as one number instead of two.

5.5.4 Your itemized figures are always on your 6ortal dashboard. If the two ever fail to reconcile, email support@6ortal.com and we will go through it with you line by line. We would far rather spend twenty minutes explaining a number than have you quietly conclude that we are stealing from you.

5.6 Setting your price

5.6.1 You set your own price and may change it at any time. Changes apply to future sales only.

5.6.2 Apps may be free, or priced from $2.99 to $100.00.

5.6.3 The $2.99 floor exists because of the flat $0.30 charge in Section 5.3.1. Below $3.00, processing takes an unreasonable share of the transaction and neither of us gains anything.

5.6.4 Pricing is entirely your decision. For reference, small single-purpose utilities commonly sit between $3 and $10, creative tools and instruments between $15 and $60, and professional software at $40 and above. Underpricing serious work is the most common mistake we see. You are allowed to charge what your work is worth.

5.6.5 You cannot purchase your own apps. This is enforced at checkout.

5.7 Getting paid

5.7.1 Payouts are handled by Stripe Connect. You must complete Stripe's payout setup before you can list a paid app.

5.7.2 Once setup is complete, Stripe transfers your Net Proceeds to your bank account automatically on a rolling schedule. In the US this is typically about two business days after each sale. Timing varies by country and by your account history with Stripe.

5.7.3 6ortal does not hold your money and does not pay you manually. There is no minimum payout amount and nothing for you to request.

5.7.4 Payout schedules, verification requirements, and account limits are set by Stripe, not by us. We cannot override them.

5.7.5 Keeping your payout details current is your responsibility. If Stripe cannot reach your bank, your Net Proceeds remain in your Stripe balance until you correct it.

5.7.6 If Stripe restricts or disables your connected account, your paid apps stop being purchasable until the restriction is resolved. Your free apps are unaffected, and Buyers who already purchased keep their access. We cannot lift a Stripe restriction on your behalf.

5.8 Refunds and clawbacks

5.8.1 Buyers may receive refunds under the 6ortal Refund Policy.

5.8.2 When a refund is issued:

• before your payout has been sent, the amount is deducted from your pending balance;
• after your payout has been sent, the amount is deducted from your next payout.

5.8.3 If you have no further sales, a refunded amount remains as a negative balance on your account until future earnings clear it.

5.8.4 When we refund a Buyer, our Platform Fee is refunded proportionally. We do not keep our commission on a sale that was reversed.

5.8.5 Stripe does not return its Processing Costs on a refunded transaction. 6ortal absorbs that cost. It is not deducted from you.

5.8.6 If an app is removed for security reasons under Section 3.3 of the Refund Policy, every purchase of that app is refunded, and those refunds are clawed back from you under Section 5.8.2. Shipping something malicious, knowingly or not, means you do not keep the revenue from it.

5.9 Chargebacks

5.9.1 A "chargeback" is when a Buyer disputes a charge with their card issuer instead of contacting us.

5.9.2 Chargebacks, and any dispute fees charged by the card networks, will be deducted from your account or offset against your future payouts.

5.9.3 We will try to resolve problems directly with a Buyer before a dispute reaches this stage, and we will let you know through your account when a dispute involves one of your apps.

5.9.4 If an account accumulates an unusual rate of disputes, we may suspend its listings while we look into it.

5.10 Taxes

5.10.1 You are solely responsible for any taxes owed on money you earn through 6ortal.

5.10.2 Stripe collects the tax information it requires for payouts and handles the associated reporting obligations directly with you.

5.10.3 6ortal does not withhold taxes on your behalf and does not provide tax advice.

5.11 Changes to the Platform Fee

5.11.1 We will give at least 30 days' notice before changing the Platform Fee in Section 5.2.1. Notice will be posted on the Platform and shown in your creator dashboard.

5.11.2 Fee changes never apply retroactively to sales that have already happened.

5.11.3 If you do not accept a change, you may delist your apps and stop selling. Nothing here locks you into a term.

5.12 If your Creator access ends

5.12.1 If your Creator status is revoked, or you choose to leave the Platform, your listings are removed from public view.

5.12.2 Buyers who already purchased your app keep their access to it. They paid for it, and that does not become their problem.

5.12.3 Net Proceeds already accrued continue to pay out through Stripe as normal, after deducting any outstanding refunds or chargebacks.

6. Content Ownership

You retain full ownership of your applications. By publishing on 6ortal, you grant the Platform a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, distribute, display, and promote your app on the Platform.

You represent and warrant that you have the right to distribute your app and that it does not infringe on any third-party intellectual property.

7. Prohibited Content

Apps must not contain:

• Malware, spyware, adware, or any malicious code
• Hidden cryptocurrency miners
• Unauthorized data collection or transmission
• Content that violates any laws or regulations
• Plagiarized or stolen code without proper licensing
• Misleading functionality or deceptive practices

8. Updates and Maintenance

Creators are encouraged to maintain their apps and push updates to address bugs and security issues. Each update undergoes the same review process as the initial submission. Abandoned apps with known security issues may be delisted.

9. Removal and Delisting

You may request removal of your app at any time. 6ortal may delist apps that violate this agreement, receive credible security reports, or are abandoned with known issues. Creators will be notified before delisting when possible.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. Upon termination, your apps will be removed from the Platform. Outstanding payouts will be processed according to Stripe's terms.
