Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using 6ortal ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Platform.

2. Description of Service

6ortal is a curated software marketplace that enables users to discover and download applications for Windows, Linux, and Android. The Platform facilitates distribution between app creators and end users.

3. User Accounts

You may browse the Platform without an account. To download apps, leave reviews, or submit apps, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Upload or distribute malware, spyware, or any harmful software
  • Misrepresent the functionality or safety of any application
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to circumvent any security measures on the Platform
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
  • Submit fraudulent reviews or manipulate ratings
  • Use the Platform to distribute copyrighted material without authorization

5. App Distribution

All apps distributed through the Platform undergo security scanning and review. However, 6ortal does not guarantee that any app is free from defects, vulnerabilities, or malicious code. Users download and install apps at their own risk.

6ortal reserves the right to remove any app from the Platform at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to security concerns, policy violations, or legal requirements.

6. Purchases and Payments

6.1 Our role

6.1.1 6ortal is a marketplace. Apps listed on the Platform are created, owned, and sold by independent developers ("Creators").

6.1.2 When you buy an app, your licence to use that software is granted by the Creator, not by 6ortal. The contract for the software itself is between you and the Creator.

6.1.3 6ortal reviews and security scans listings before publication, operates the storefront, processes payment, and administers the Refund Policy.

6.2 Payment processing

6.2.1 Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc.

6.2.2 6ortal does not receive or store your card details at any point.

6.2.3 Your purchase is also subject to Stripe's terms of service.

6.3 Prices and currency

6.3.1 All prices are in US dollars and are shown before you pay.

6.3.2 Creators set their own prices and may change them at any time. The price displayed at checkout is the price you pay.

6.3.3 Paid apps are priced between $2.99 and $100.00.

6.3.4 Your card statement will show 6ORTAL. If you see that on a statement and cannot place it, that is us, and Section 6.7 explains how to reach a person.

6.4 What a purchase gives you

6.4.1 A purchase grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to download and use the app, on the terms the Creator supplies with it.

6.4.2 Unless the Creator states otherwise, you may reinstall and re-download the app from your 6ortal account for as long as your account remains active.

6.4.3 You may not resell, redistribute, or sublicense an app unless its licence expressly permits it.

6.5 Continued access to what you bought

6.5.1 If an app is delisted, whether by its Creator or by us, you keep access to any copy you have already purchased.

6.5.2 Section 6.5.1 does not apply to apps removed for security reasons. If we determine that an app is malicious or unsafe, we will remove access and refund you. Leaving you holding a download we believe is dangerous would be worse than reversing the sale.

6.5.3 We do not guarantee that downloads will remain available indefinitely. We recommend keeping a local copy of any software you rely on.

6.6 Refunds

6.6.1 Purchases are final except as set out in the 6ortal Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

6.7 Problems with a purchase

6.7.1 Contact support@6ortal.com first. We read every message and reply as quickly as we can, and will involve the Creator where that helps.

6.7.2 Filing a chargeback without contacting us costs everyone more and does not resolve anything faster.

6.8 Warranties and limitation of liability

6.8.1 We review and security scan every app before listing it, and we take that seriously.

6.8.2 Review and scanning reduce risk. They do not eliminate it. We do not warrant that any app is free of defects, errors, or vulnerabilities, or that it is safe or suitable for your particular system.

6.8.3 Apps are provided by Creators "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

6.8.4 To the fullest extent permitted by law, 6ortal's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to any purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that purchase.

6.8.5 To the fullest extent permitted by law, 6ortal is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business, arising out of or relating to any app obtained through the Platform.

6.8.6 Nothing in this Section excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

6.8.7 Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions or limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent the law allows.

7. Intellectual Property

Creators retain ownership of their applications. By submitting an app to the Platform, creators grant 6ortal a non-exclusive license to host, distribute, and display the app and its associated materials on the Platform.

The 6ortal name, logo, and branding are the property of 6ortal and may not be used without written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. 6ortal does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any app distributed through the Platform is safe, functional, or fit for any particular purpose.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 6ortal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or any app downloaded through it.

10. Termination

6ortal may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify users of significant changes.
